    Microsoft Money App - Reduced Features

    The MS Money App no longer shows options for personal finance & technology (see below). Is this reduced functionality by design or a bug? I uninstalled / reinstalled the app but this made no difference. Also, my Watchlist is no lo longer populated but my stock list is still present when I view it on the MSN Money web page. If I try to add a stock to my empty Watchlist it says that stock I hold is already present!

    Hi folks

    @Steve C

    That application might have been good years ago but there's so much FREE trading software around now with charts, watchlists, updated in almost real time (15 mins delay) -- although if you purchase quite cheaply you can get "level 1" which gives you real time prices -- I find 15 mins delay more than sufficient with type of trading I do.

    You can also download free EOD (end of day data -- High, Low, Open, Close, Volume) from people like Google/yahoo etc.

    EXCEL itself is also a great tool for stock trading -- if you log on to some of the EXCEL forums there are loads of examples of how people use EXCEL for stock trending and analysis.

    I'd really give up Ms Money these days. !!!

    Cheers

    Actually, I use TrustNet for serious tracking of prices but the news feed on MS Money was quite useful. It seems the last update and Microsoft's parlous control of software quality has destroyed much of the residual useful functionality rendering the app virtually useless.

    I think it's a bug because the sidebar still shows the missing options.

    Those sidebar options do not link to the missing Personal Finance and Technology news pages

    Microsoft discontinued Money almost ten years ago.
    Lots of things in Money don't work anymore.
    I only use it as a checkbook register, with bank downloads performed as Quicken files.
    It's not much use for anything else anymore.

    I'm discussing the current Money app from the Store not the excellent discontinued Microsoft Money program which I still use. You can use MSMoneyQuotes to download prices from MSN Money provided MSN Money lists your fund / share prices - see https://gaiersoftware.com/Money

    I just installed "MSN Money" app, and it seems to be working ok. I didn't create any watch lists, but it seems to list their popular stocks.

    Does it show Personal Finance & Technology on the main menu?
