Cannot Link Microsoft Account / Setup Cortana !!

    Hello,

Could someone help me please. I'm trying to setup Cortana and have been doing for some time now.
I've fixed the issues regarding "Not Available in your Country / Region" by setting all my settings to UK and made sure they're all the same.

NOW MY ISSUE is that when I go through the setup of Cortana, it says "Finally I need you to sign in to a Microsoft account", the Window pops up very briefly and the disappears, therefor I CANNOT ADD a Microsoft account.

I have also tried going to Settings -> Accounts -> Other accounts I use
AGAIN THE BOX APPEARS BREIFLY AND DISAPPEARS!

I have gone to "Add extra accounts" and I can successfully add my Microsoft account there, upon logging in I can setup Cortana perfectly fine. However I need it to work with my Domain (Work) account and not signing in with a Microsoft Account (hope that makes sense). Everyone else in my team has managed to link their Domain account with a Microsoft account using the Cortana setup, however I can't as the box just disappears!!!

    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi

When I did this, under Setting>Accounts and just above the Title 'Your Picture', there is the option to 'Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead'. Is this not there?

Sorry, just read your post again!!!

My understanding is that you have to log in with a MS account to use Cortana.

Did anybody come up with a solution to this? I am facing exactly the same issue. I even re-installed the new Windows 10 build 10586 aka release 1511 without any change. I log on to the machine using a domain user (no admin privileges) and roaming profiles. The profile is synced properly and everything not related to Microsoft Account works fine.

But when I go to the account settings screen and clicke the "Add a Microsoft account" link then for a split-second the Sign-In screen with turning dots and the text "Just a moment..." shows up and then immediately disappears again. There is no prompt for username/password.

When I try to sign in by opening the Windows Store, then I can select the "Microsoft Account" option. I am prompted for username and password then but after confirming I get an error saying "We encountered an error. Please try signing in again later".

If I do the same in the Microsoft Feedback application I first get the same (grey/white) sign-in window as in the Store app but after entering user/password I get forwarded to a blue windows titled "Add your Microsoft Account" where I can enter e-mail address and password again. After doing so the Feedback app remains empty for very long time until it starts displaying the feedback form. It looks like it's waiting for some timeout.

Somehow it happened once that my Microsoft Account suddenly appeared listed in the account settings panel. In this state the Store app provides a clickable account on the sign-in button. However with no change on functionality, when clicked it asks for Password and then displays the same error as above "We encountered an error. Please try signing in again later".

This is very annoying. Perhaps Microsoft does not want us to use their store. Or Windows at all. Time to migrate to some working software. Currently I am really fed up. The system is quite unusable, huge window borders on desktop taking all screen space, non-working Store, Bluescreens with certain Intel WLAN cards, flat-style design with a gazillion of different font sizes on every screen, confusing menu flow and therefore incredible low usability.
