    WinPatrol Replacement?

Sadly WinPatrol seems to be "abandonware" as it hasn't been updated for quite a while. The web site says he is working on an update but that's been a couple years ago. Comments on the WinPatrol FB page suggest it may never be updated again. Any other program that does what WinPatrol does? It still works but there are questions on how well it works. It doesn't "play well" with Macrium Reflect for one as there is no way to tell WinPatrol to ignore the Macrium Reflect startup apps and thus there are popup messages at every boot of Win 10. It used to be you could tell WinPatrol to ignore a startup (for example) and from that point on WinPatrol would not flag that programs startup.

Hi, might be interesting if you could list specific features you're interested in.. e.g.

    - delaying startups
    - trapping startups being added with option of blocking them

    etc...

WinPatrol does so much. It monitors startups and if a new start up is detected it flags it and gives the user option to allow or not. It lists Services, Active Tasks, Registry Monitoring, Lists Active X files, etc.

Perhaps a link for Fireberd would help. If someone else is doing the WinPatrol project, he may not have the most current link.

    Just a thought.............

I have the same "latest" 2017 version. Plenty of (complaint) posts on the FB page.

The latest on their website is 35.5.2017.8 was released on May 7 2017.
Bret Lowry took over WinPatrol in 2016 and owns the code.

Would like to have any new info about new development after 2017 (2016)

In the shape it is right now, I don't recommend using it. Still has some nice features,

Download MJ Registry Watcher - MajorGeeks

You'd need an elevated shortcut to launch on boot.
