From what I read on their Facebook site they were hit by Hurricane Irma in Sept of 2017 and the area was devastated.
Bret Lowry lost his home, his mother and friends. He had just finished WinPatrol WAR (anti-ransomware) and was about to start on a rewrite of WinPatrol PLUS when the storm hit. No word on the future but they are still selling his products on https://www.winpatrol.com/ but no updates on any of his products since 2017.

MJ Registry Watcher would do part of what WinPatrol does. I don't like that it "polls" every 30 seconds. It would have to be turned off when I run my recording studio software and do recording. WinPatrol is non conflicting and Latency Mon does not show any issue with it.

Sad for his loss in the hurricane, and I can associate with that as I'm in west central Florida, but that excuse only goes so far.

There are options to set the poll period and also to run it as a service:

I have Malwarebytes (paid version) for spyware. MJwatcher isn't really needed. WinPatrol still works although sorely needs updating.

WinPatrol is definitely sadly abandoned these days. You only have to see the facebook page.

FYI: Turn it off = right click system tray icon then exit. Polling interval can be adjusted via "Engine Tuning" options. All settings can be user defined with regards to registry and file locations to monitor or exclude. It also periodically creates reg backups that can be easily restored. These backups can c=be deleted periodically.

Is what safe? MJ RegWatcher? Only if you know how to correctly respond to prompts. Of course it comes with a full reg backup option to get you out of trouble if you make a mistake.#
