Uninstalling Unwanted or Unused Windows Components & Applications

    Hi,

I hope this is in the right place (admin feel free to move if not) but wanted to get some opinions about the following:

    1. I know there is now an option to remove Internet Explorer in Windows 10; is it needed, recommended etc.?

    2. I do not use nor do I intend using OneDrive; should it be removed?

    Thanks!

Hi, personally I wouldn't bother removing IE. Very occasionally I suppose you might still find a program that has IE hard coded as the browser- the user's choice of default browser not being respected.

Yes, you can remove Onedrive if you wish- it can be intrusive.

    Thanks for the response dalchina.

You are right about IE and that is a concern regarding possible integration or other unintended consequences.

I will check out the tutorials though I am tending towards simply disabling for now (again, who knows what programs might be affected if I uninstall completely).

    Regards.

Steve Gibson was talking about the Enterprise Edition of Windows 10 which does not have stuff like Cortana, Skype, Grove Music, Xbox, etc. It sounds like the perfect version of Windows 10 except it is only available to Business users. Microsoft doesn't really want anyone to know about it if you put enterprise edition in a search engine is takes you to the Pro edition instead. To find it you have to dig deep and as I said MS will only provide it to business customers.
