    Tenebril.com and StickyNotes

    Hi Folks,

The most recent Windows 10 update has removed something on my computer that's breaking my heart.

One of my all-time favourite apps, Tenebril Corporations' Sticky Notes is no longer available to me. The program loads like it did last week, but some flag has been tripped that requires me to notify Tenebril of my sales order number (Begins with an "ST"), along with my original eMail address to register the product with Tenebril. Registration is via the internet. Until I do this, the program thinks I've stolen it and will not work.

Well, Tenebril.com no longer exists, so the registration applet times out and I can not access the program.

I believe this 3-D sticky Note program was very well received so I wonder if anyone else has the same issue, and importantly, a work around.

Many thanks to anyone who can help. It will be a shame not to have realistic-looking scrap paper notes all over my monitor.

    Maybe try re-installing the program.

    Thanks Edwin,

I appreciate that you've taken the time.

Sadly, the interruption I'm referring to is the registration screen, so it would only continue. I'm sure I'll eventually find the line in the registry that I can experiment with.

    Thanks again,

    -Paul

Registration screen stays open for me with a fresh install...

Check your App or Security settings, if there's something like Only allow Store Apps enabled, or the like.

It may not be the equal of Tenebril's product, but Windows 1809, build 17763.316 has a sticky notes app of its own, installed along with Windows. Check your start menu, or Settings>Apps.

    Thanks again Edwin,

Yeah, that's the nag screen I see. It's a simple step that is intended to send my creds to tenebril.com, and afterwards the program ran easily and that nag never reappeared.

    Attachment 225569

(I guess Tenebril returned some kind of user permission key in the background.)
Worked just fine until after Microsofts' last update.

I did work through the Settings and APP controls as you suggested. All of those choices should have allowed a third-party APP to work fine.

I guess I will just have to scour through the Registry looking for a line that might do. Compared to the number of factors in Microsofts' Sticky Notes (hundreds) there are probably less than a dozen that link to Tenebril.

Either that, or learn to live with Microsofts' version.

Thanks again Edwin, and mta3006. I really do appreciate the time you've given me.
