Have you tried to save the settings in the player folder to see if it works ? ( View > Options > Player > Store settings in the player folder ). If that doesn't store the settings, it could be a permissions problem with where MPC is installed ( you may be able to test this out by running MPC as admin, set up all your options, click apply, and then restart MPC normally to see if the settings are stored ).

Other than the above, I can't think of anything else, unless there is a bug in the beta.

das10 has nailed it i suspect. I've always used MPC-HC and it's behaviour changed with Win10. To this day i don't know why, but if i want to change anything in it's settings i have to run it as Administrator otherwise the changes won't stick.

    Perhaps, it's a permission issue.
Using portable MPC-HC, both 32 & 64 bit, never had such an issue.

Yes, portable mode works without issue. Also, if somebody really wants to install MPC rather than use portable mode, then maybe custom install it outside the program files folder/s and save settings to the .ini file may be possible.

I never used the Portable version but have always saved to .ini file for backup purposes. It was only the initial setup when i first used it on Win10 that threw me. Couldn't understand at first why nothing was sticking. Once i sussed it out it was plain sailing. Can't remember the last time i had to change a setting so it's not an ongoing annoyance! MPC-HC has been one of the most reliable programs i've ever used long-term. It's never let me down!
