Netflix App Won't run in Windows 10 Home
-
Yup - also works for me now as well. Full marks to MS for sorting the issue. One daft question though - I made Netflix run full screen, and then couldn't find a way to exit the app other than Alt f4. Anyone the the correct approach?
Cliff
The top panel will drop down when you move the mouse cursor to the top of the screen. On it, you'll find a bunch of buttons, including the full screen button. Threw me off for a bit there, too!

You're quite right! Thanks for that.

Now this is very strange. I was about to write that it's not only Netflix, but Hulu and a few others... mind you, I have FireFox opened... because I had been unable to install those apps, and Discovery Channel as well, and they failed.
Suddenly, I start writing this reply, go back and check on the Netflix and Hulu apps just to make sure they don't work, but to my surprise, they do.
Could the fact that I had my browser opened as I installed the apps have something to do with the apps coming to life?
Hope that someone tries to duplicate this.
Many thanks.
Peter
I'm using Home, too.
I found
this Reddit post where the problem is discussed. One of the replies:
I guess we'll just have to wait for an app update. By the way, W10 has been working flawlessly for me except for this.

Try loading the GOM player and starting a video then launching Netflix. I suspect the GOM configs improve the graphics driver to some extent. I am running the amd 6000 series drivers on my aspire one laptop and have seen promising result on at lest two of my computers.

Netflix streaming
Anyone else having issues with the Netflix app in Windows 10 Home? I upgraded my main desk top PC with Win 10 at the weekend and all went well. Today I installed the Netflix app from Windows Store and it won't load. It starts to open, then simply shuts down.
I tried downloading the app to my wifes laptop (which was upgraded earlier today) with exactly the same result, so presumably it's an app issue or more general Windows 10 issue. Any thoughts?
Cliff
I chatted with Netflix this morning. There is a resolution. The issue has to do with Silverlight. Support tech at Netflix sent me instructions to remove Silverlight and install the Netflix solution.

Oh you tease..... what was the solution?
I have uptodate Win10, netflix app will play for a few minutes then I get a system configuration error, when I spoke to Netlfix support they dont know about any solution.

I removed silverlight, started a video.... contacted netflix support in preparation for it crashing, however the app seems to be working fine now, with no changes.. just removing silverlight was enough.

FIX a workaround

When the app is loading click (as quick as you can) the login button at the top right of the window, this should allow you to enter your login information and enter your account. You should now be able to enjoy the Netflix app.... Worked for me on 3 different machines--

Well that worked for less than a day, not working again. Contacted Netflix support again, they have no workaround for this problem.

When I first installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, it was over an existing Windows 8.1 install and Netflix App worked fine. I later completed a clean install (on to a new M.2 Drive) and everything is working fine EXCEPT Netflix App.
Same issue, the App Store finds it, sees that I already "own" it and when I try to install the App Store just goes away after a few seconds.
