Wanted - very simple drawing software

I occasionally make tutorials and need to be able to sketch, draw, write etc in B/W to explain things, using my Wacom pen.

Windows Ink Workspace does exactly what I want, but has some drawbacks, mainly that it won't run in windowed mode - I need to be able to drag a window off to the 2nd monitor and back as required.

I don't need all the sketching bells and whistles, and don't want a load of visible controls for different pens, colors, shapes etc - just a nice clean, empty window I can draw in.

Any ideas ?

Personally, I use
Bamboo Paper - Wacom
Bamboo Paper - Microsoft Store

Bamboo paper allows me to sketch, draw, write etc in B&W as well as in colour. My pen is not from Wacom [it's a cheap unbranded one]. It allows sketches to be organised into books and its controls are neatly out of the way. It also has a selection of backgrounds available including blank paper & ruled paper.

I did look around & experiment a bit before deciding on Bamboo paper. Like you, I wanted one that worked with a pen & that allowed windows.
- Windows ink workspace which could not run windowed
- Paint 3D which is already in Windows 10, but which I found awkward to work with.
- Classic Paint for Windows 10 - Winaero [no notes made]
- Basic whiteboard - I could not find a save method in it
- Inkodo [no notes made]
- MetaMoJi Note lite [one review said there was no save routine so I ditched this without giving it a proper chance]
- Plumbago - full screen always, no way of exiting the app that I could find
- Scrble lite - I just kept getting confused with this and it kept zooming for reasons I did not understand
