    Anyone Using RoboForm?

Lately, I have been having an Application Hang of the RoboForm Companion. It stops interacting with Windows and terminates upon the hang, leaving RoboForm useless until I close my browser completely down and reopen it. This is extensively reported in the Reliability History Monitor and happens two or three times a day.

I have a support ticket pending with RoboForm support and their suggestions so far have been to add exception string codes to the built-in Windows Defender program- if that is the name it still goes by?
The exception strings work for a couple of days and then the problem resurfaces with a different error code string and RoboForm support throws me another exception string to add to the exclusions list in Defender.

RoboForm has consistently run into this problem with every Cumulative Update that I can remember and is usually fixed by the time the RoboForm product is updated. The problem is, I don't think RoboForm is rolling out their updates as fast as Windows and the product I paid for (RoboForm) is suffering because I got Windows 10 free through the upgrade offered quite a while ago now.

Figures, pay for one product only to have the other product make you suffer because it was free.

I got this funny feeling though; even if I did pay for Windows 10, I still think this problem would exist.

The latest version of RoboForm I have is: 8.5.5.5 - it is the latest version as far as I can tell.

Just wondering if any RoboForm users out there are experiencing the same Application Hang?

Hi, just realised your post is about Roboform Companion, which I'd not heard of. It seems to be an add-on created by a separate company.
RoboForm Companion Download - Roboform add-on for registering in contests
If it is with that, rather than the main Roboform program you are experiencing problems, it might be worth simply uninstalling it and verifying that Roboform itself is ok.

A quick search indicates it hasn't been updated since 2015
    RoboForm Companion 3.5.166

so I'm a little surprised Roboform support is responding to issues about it.

I have R. on 2 W 10 1809 laptops and have used it for years. It's integrated with several browsers - no hangs or software conflicts.

However, noting your comments about Defender, I do have Avast installed, although when the other laptop did not have Avast installed I didn't note any problems.

I have also been using Roboform on 2 Desktops and my Laptop for around 12 years and never encountered any conficts or problems with it either.

That is incorrect. I mean, you are correct about RoboForm Companion; but, I'm talking about the Extension, which is a form of RoboForm Companion or is confused with RoboForm Companion. RoboForm Companion (Edge Extension) is up to version 8.5.5.0 and is recommended by RoboForm support to be installed alongside their product.

My support ticket just got bumped higher up the echelon, so I will have to wait and see what their response is and report back in this thread.

It would have helped had you been clear about this. No link to what it is you meant - I had to search to find it.

So thank you for this- and I'm sorry I wasted your time with my reply, when I was having to play guessing games.

    Good luck with it.

Well, it isn't my fault support wasn't clear on the difference between RoboForm Companion and the Edge Extension. However, I was absolutely clear on it being reported in the Reliability History as a RoboForm Companion problem; so I don't really see how you wasted my time.

Well I've been using RoboForm for years ....version 8.5.5.5 with no problems with Windows 10 Pro, or Windows defender EVER. Maybe you should change your Companion to a version that Works much better.

That is why I am waiting for support to verify a reasonable solution to the problem. They still haven't verified my version of Companion to provide a solution yet - so I'm just waiting for their answer to my support ticket.

Strange that I am the only one so far to have this issue or just taking the time to find out if anyone else has the issue.

Well maybe your one of very few people using Roboform Companion , I would do as dalchina suggested and remove it completely. If its has not been updated since 2015....

That is what is confusing me; I never installed RoboForm Companion - just the extension for Edge. So if by installing the extension for Edge is in effect installing RoboForm Companion - then why is support suggesting to install the extension in Edge if it is a known problem?
