    Start menu x


    This is my desktop display using Start Menu X..i refer this display appearance as Windows 98...this was the default appearance when i installed Start Menu X.

    Back to Start Menu X, quite a 2nd choice in 3 respects though.
    What good shall a desktop shortcut be? If Explorer crashes, then the Desktop shall go with it.

    Hmm, not the point of my comment- given the long-standing apparent vulnerability a number have experienced with Classic Shell and now Open Shell to various aspects of Windows configuration leading to this crash, I just mentioned a convenient recovery approach. Main point is that once this problem occurs with this program it's very hard to find out why- hence I gave up on one PC having other things to do than deal with programming weakness of which I have no control.
