Wouldn't such a minor bug fix be distributed straight to public store users instead of those on preview copies of Windows 10? I guess it's better to be safe than sorry but it's nice to know a potential fix is coming soon after dealing with this issue for many months.

An idea flashed across my mind after reading your reply. My speculation :

You are in USA. Your incorrect location is ……. Washington DC
I am in Canada. My incorrect location is ………….. Ottawa.
What do the above 2 have in common ?
They are the capital city of their respective country.

I wonder if other members having this "wrong location" issue can confirm that they have their capital city incorrectly posted as their location.
I would imagine that due to the Privacy clause in Windows, it cannot track you without your permission, so they select a default location. The US installation of Windows 10 has always set it to Washington DC for myself.

I wanted to show a gif with the "wrong location bug" fixed, the tile is updated immediately when changing the location.

This bug has already been fixed in the insiders builds so soon it will be fixed in the public build, a few days ago I had announced the fix of another bug, but I was not sure if Microsoft had also fixed the bug mentioned in this thread, that's why I didn't mention it here, but today Microsoft has officially announced the fix:
    Attachment 223746
Latest weather app update partially breaks the live tile

Apparently update KB4487044 has fixed the bug.

No, it's coincidence. A new update to the Weather app was released at the same time.
