    Hi-Q Recorder

Is anyone using the paid version of the Hi-Q Recorder by Roemer? Just recently, I lost the ability to select my input source for the recorder and it won't recognize the Realtek High Definition Audio as a selectable source for recording.

On the other hand, the free version of Audacity will recognize the input source of the Realtek High Definition Audio.

Any ideas as to why the Hi-Q Recorder stopped recognizing the Realtek audio drivers? It seems as though all support for Hi-Q recording software just disappeared all of the sudden.

    Maybe try 'Stereo Mix'...

When and how did you upgrade to 1809? If recently then it could be the problem.

I clean installed 1809 last week and had a lot of trouble getting a few drivers to work including sound drivers and battery management drivers. All fixed now though. If you've got backup of non MS drivers try reinstalling the sound driver from backup.

If you don't have stereo mix see this:

Stereo Mix no longer appears. - Windows 10 Forums

That should allow your program to record anything that you can hear through your speakers but you have to temporarily select playback device when using it.

Thank you very much @Edwin and @Callender.

Edwin - that is what I was looking for; but I had this:

As you can see, I had no choices.

Callender - I checked out your link and found this:

    Hi-Q Recorder-sound.jpg

After adjusting the microphone privacy settings, I got it to show up in Hi-Q!

Now why on earth I would have to allow microphone privacy access to a sound device input source is beyond me, since I'm not using a microphone; but I'll take this as a win and thank you both again.

Marked Solved and Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Very much you two!

    EDIT:

I don't know why this last photo is attached to this post and I can't seem to edit it out; so please ignore it!

The last picture should've been this:

That is my "Unlimited Recording" version that I bought. I had to download the trial version first in order to access the upgrade button.
