    I use this one, it is nice and basic, doesn't install extra junk and works fine :
    Free PDF Reader - Sumatra PDF

    Hi there

    @dafydd

    Actually EDGE (hate it as a browser though ) has PDF read - and print to pdf files already.
    Just browse to file with file explorer and double click on pdf -- edge will start or if first time you've used it as pdf reader you'll be prompted for application to use. No need to install anything extra for basic pdf reading.

    Cheers

    If you don't like it there is Foxit Reader (which is a good PDF reader but tries to install their extra junk cloud programs) or Adobe which is huge and bloated. Both are free (and I'm sure there are more) but for just reading a PDF (and printing it etc) I prefer Sumatra.

    I do quite like Edge (I use it all the time) but a PDF reader is better when it comes to looking at page layout.

    For example, if you want to print just your airline ticket boarding pass and not the extra 6 pages of adverts it is easier to associate .pdf with a PDF reader than use Edge. I'm sure you can use either - just in my experience a PDF reader is easier.

    Microsoft Edge is the default PDF Reader in Windows 10. You do not have to install anything. There are no Ads by printing a PDF from Edge.

    I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as the printing options are better, but for the basics Edge is just fine.

    Adobe Reader is bloated. Foxit Reader is a good alternative (pay attention to installation options). Its PDF printer is a nice addition too (you can configure preferred compression and such, unlike Microsoft's one). Sumatra is good too if you only want a barebones PDF reader (it reads Ebook formats too by the way).

    PDF Xchange Viewer is my default PDF reader. It's lightweight and it allows you to export PDF as images. Not all PDFs render fine though and it's a discontinued product (even if it is still receiving updates). PDF Xchange Viewer can read Adobe Illustrator files (.AI) too, by the way.
