Heh, the first couple of users are always a train wreck The server's showing you as connected now and it's pinging OK. Any idea what happened differently in the end?

Also when it wasn't letting you back in, what was on the screen... some sort of error notice? The logs were showing a couple login attempts but no fatal errors server side.

    UPDATE:

It's working, was a 'let apps run in the background' thing...

Cool - thanks for the update. I'll refine the process a bit so that when permission isn't initially granted and a connection is impossible, it'll tell ya what's goin' on.

Yup, I didn't have a clue til I looked at the debug log...

Thanks for the credit, btw, you didn't have to do that...

Downloaded, installed and registered. I could use and would have use for a German, Finnish or Swedish number, but none of these countries can be selected.

Thanks Kari - I had to limit the available countries because some of them have a legal requirement to collect verified address information, fill out forms or provide government IDs, which seemed like a lot of manual work.

I've just double checked with the telco provider (nexmo) and it looks like they have no mobile numbers for Germany or Finland, but they do have Sweden @ €4/mo, though their documentation had stated that it was a country needing IDs. Their website seems to list Sweden numbers as buyable, maybe we can just try it and see if it goes through without any error? I've enabled Sweden in SichboPhone so you should be able to select it, go through the motions and see what happens, assuming the telco's monthly fee is acceptable to you. To see Sweden, you might just need to relaunch the app to get latest options.

    Thanks again for testing!

Thanks, I can see Sweden is now available.

A Finnish number would have been perfect for me, but I understand that Nexmo has none available. Finland has one of the most liberal systems regarding pre-paid mobile numbers, you can buy a pre-paid SIM from any supermarket, kiosk or gasoline / petrol station without any ID or need to register. In addition, it is one of the cheapest countries in western world to make calls, mobile calling cost being a cent or two a minute, with a subscription you usually get free calls and text messages with 20 EUR or less a month.

So, for me it would be the best possible choice, making calls cheap even in Germany, this adopted home country of mine.

Anyway, Swedish number is a good compromise. I will get a number and start testing after the holidays.
