Think MS said they are rewriting Edge in part to make it more Chromium based. Don't believe they are discontinuing it.

I tried more than once to make Windows 10 mail work for me in a useful manner but gave up on it.

I am not suggesting that the source posted below is more reliable. Just something I read.

Microsoft is building its own Chrome browser to replace Edge

Redmond makes a big change to compete on the web

    By Tom Warren@tomwarren Dec 4, 2018, 3:40am EST

    excerpt:
Microsoft is building its own Chromium browser to replace the default on Windows 10. The software giant first introduced its Edge browser three years ago, with a redesign to replace Internet Explorer and modernize the default browsing experience to compete with Chrome and others. While the modern look and feel has paid off for Edge, the underlying browser engine (EdgeHTML) has struggled to keep up with Chromium. Microsoft is finally giving up and moving its default Windows 10 browser to Chromium.

Would be nice if MS brought back WLM as built-in default mail client.

I know. There is an offline installer. I have it. It took me last 2 days to get it installed on my new mini pc device. And I was lucky. For 2 days, it refused to install. I just kept trying.

Think I also read part of the MS logic (oxymoron? ) is by doing a Chromium based engine, they can supply Edge to Win 7 and Win 8 platforms, and possible Mac ().
