Windows 10 Pro for Workstations has the same features as Windows 10 Pro but supports more RAM and certain workstation hardware. Why do you want that?

There will be few cheap prices for Windows 10 for Workstations. It is designed to run on high end hardware such as is otherwise only supported by a server OS. This includes up to 4 physical CPUs and 6 TB RAM. It is intended for professional users who are willing to pay a premium price. Compared to the hardware, the price of the OS is quite reasonable. Sellers have no reason to sell cheap.

I got it free through the Windows Insider program but they stopped that sometime last year. For me (I have a Core2Duo with 3GB RAM) it is almost completely pointless (although I can format ReFS) but more to the point I like the name

You could join and perhaps they will do it again - they often do such give-aways I think.

The pointless point is why would anybody want to spend 300-400 USD on ReFs ...?

It's like LTSC ... why? it's just a tweaked Enterprise.. anybody can do it.

Well you wouldn't as you can format ReFS from PE or just using regedit anyway. Any Pro version can read ReFS and it is terribly unreliable anyway.

In most ways though PfW is exactly like Pro but just slightly more annoying (when it comes to reinstalling) as you have one more step to do. For me anyway.

Perhaps if someone actually had a PC with 4 CPUs (not cores) or NVDIMM-N or 6TB (not GB) RAM it would be useful. No-one here doews though (spelling not compulsory for such OS requirement apparently).

I don't care - I just got it free and it makes me feel like a hardcore Windows user.

If they released a version called "Ultimate Professional Workstation Canada Plus Plus" with an upgrade price of $10 I'd probably buy it though - especially if it had a splash screen saying I was worth it like XP Pro did.

It would impress my colleagues in the workplace I'm sure.

There is no such thing as cheap when it comes to licensed software.

    There are always exceptions.
My Windows Operating System and Office installs are totally legal and totally free via Microsoft. =) It doesn't get any cheaper than that.
I got a free My Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription (formally MSDN) as a perk of being a Microsoft MVP. I'm no longewr an MVP but the software and installation codes are mine to keep.
Anybody here with a Windows Insider MVP, or Microsoft MVP badge got the same free perk. If they took Microsoft up on the offer. I had a TechNet subscription too until they killed that off. Still have all the product codes from that subscription too. All old stuff now though Windows 7, Office 2013. I'm currently running 10 Enterprise and office 2019 Pro Plus.
