Can I install WeeChat using the Windows Subsystem for Linux?

I would like to get Weechat working on Windows 10. I am aware that I have the option of Cygwin, but I feel that WSL is more of a native solution and I would prefer that.

I'm wondering, is it straightforward enough to just install command line apps using WSL? All I really want it for is Weechat and I would probably install youtube-dl too while I'm at it.

There is an interesting guide in the link below. Although I don't use any linux apps in Windows 10, probably other linux command line tools may work similarly to how Weechat works.
