How do I get my FILES in two columns in Windows Explorer

I have some folders that have NUMEROUS files in them, and I can't see all of the files at once without making the text so small that I can't read it.

I would like to be able to divide the contents of a folder into two columns of FILES. Whenever I try to find the solution on line I only seem to find info dealing the columns that apply to the individual folders (file size, etc.).

How can I make two columns of files in Windows Explorer?

    Thanks.

In File Explorer [renamed from Windows Explorer] click the View tab, several choices of which one may help. Do keep in mind the size of the File Explorer window will make a difference in how much of what is shown. What you mentioned about date, size, etc., is a different function, has to do with the headings of columns where clicking one of those changes the lineup, by date, by size, Ascending, Descending, alphabetical, numerical, etc., but won't be available in all of the View choices available.

    Use the list view option?

Show the ribbon in file explorer, then simply by hovering over each option in the red box, you can see the different views.

How many columns are displayed depends on (amongst other things) how wide your window is, and sometimes on the longest file name in a column.

    Welcome to TenForums!

    1. You mentioned dividing the contents of a folder into two columns.

    2. You also mentioned 'seeing all files at once'.

The former is probably not possible without the aid of a 3rd party software and, depending on the number of items, you'd probably still have to scroll to see all the content.

The later would be possible in List View but, you would have to stretch the window accordingly, which means, (again, depending on the number of items), you would have to have an ultra-wide monitor or multiple monitors.

And even then the resolution would probably have to be at the larger numbers to get more data on the screen but most likely be hard on the eyes from being too small.
