    Dsyncronise looks good

it mentions syncing to the cloud....this would save the need for a usb pen......wonder how this would be setup ? Would the cloud storage need to have a drive letter ?

    thanks

    Hi
    filenames stay the same
Then you need versioning if keeping newest plus older copies. If you just want the most recent files then the software linked in Post 8 should work. Just backup the folder(s) for the first few runs to be sure.

If you still want a batch file - well can anyone help with that please?

I don't use cloud backup, cloud sync or cloud storage so don't know much about it. I guess you have defined folders to sync or backup or a cloud drive. You would likely need to use the correct folder path to include it in your cloud storage.

    Hi
thanks for all the ideas, when searched for, there is a plethora of file / folder sync programs....mostly free...I settled in thismone
    https://www.ascomp.de/en/products/sh...le/tab/details

works very well updates the file when logging off shutting down etc....

the only sync condition I couldn’t get to work was the USB detect....mode the screen cleared when inserted but said NA....

but it that’s not a big issue as there is another sync criteria if file exists so I selected the usb pen and the file name
