CCleaner c5.49.6856 producing flyout ads for 'Black Friday'

When Ccleaner was first introduced by Piriform, it was called 'Crap Cleaner', but that was quickly changed to Ccleaner.
Maybe Avast should just revert it back to the original name ?

Now I'm really disappointed! I just fired up my old XP notebook it hasn't run in 12 months I had to charge the battery. Guess what greeted me as son as I logged in. Yes! The Black Friday fly out.
I hate AVG and their dirty deeds. They have ruined a decent program and lost/loosing customer support, if the ever had any.

UPDATE: After this post, I tried the scan/clean process 7 times, still would not go to "clean" as it had previously. After try 3, turned off internet, no difference.

I just started using Wise this evening and I did notice that. Speculation -- CCleaner's latest version does not clean everything checked if you're on Win 10 1809. The Feature Updates and occasionally the Cumulative Updates change the cleaning path CCleaner uses and Piriform has to tweak and come out with new builds. Could be the same thing for Wise. BTW -- both cleaners always call for closing Edge before it can be cleaned as it's automatically running in the background.

I have the ad flyout on CCleaner v5.47.6716, My main use for CCleaner is to selectively delete uneeded restore points. Is there an alternative program to do this?

Wise Disk Cleaner is quite good used with the standard Disk Clean. I also used Patch Cleaner for a while but found it trashed updates to Office 2010.

Unfortunately, I do not know. Perhaps someone with more knowledge is aware of something. I do know a few people who are keeping CCleaner to do just what you do -- and they use Wise or another product for disk cleaning.

stops the ad from appearing. Wonder why Windows Firewall doesn't? And, I did have Windows Firewall correctly configured for incoming and outgoing for both CCleaner and CCleaner64 exe's in Programs Files.

So, I wonder what else Windows Firewall lets through that is supposed to be blocked if people are using it to try and block things?

This issue may be related as I think the change is related to monetization enforcement (ads, telemetry etc)
