    Windows App Updates

    Are changelogs just hugely ignored with W10 apps? Example MS Sticky Notes and Xbox Game Bar show they were updated today in MS store with new version numbers. I have no clue how to see what was changed. It isn't like Google Play in that when I go to the specific app page in MS store it doesn't have the latest changes nor can I click the updated app to see a quick summary of changes. Netflix and Spotify also updated. Same thing, no idea what changed and when I searched I came up with nothing except a few other users in forums asking for release notes.

    Reliability Monitor shows when Apps are updated and quite often updated Apps show a welcome screen showing what's new the first time you run an updated App.

    True about the welcome screen with new features. Thanks for telling me about reliability monitor. Had no clue about it and it is very informative. May help me with another issue.

    Andy,

    You can also see all Windows updates, including App updates & Windows Defender updates, in
    Event viewer, System log, WindowsUpdateClient, EventID 19

    Reliability Monitor also tracks updates pretty exhaustively, too. They show up therein as informational events, marked with a white "i" on a blue background. Here's what shows for last "Patch Tuesday" for example:

    There is lots of information but what I was really looking for is what exactly changes on app updates. For instance if you go to MS store>Downloads and Updates you'll probably see that on 11/16 MS sticky notes/Photos/Xbox game bar all were updated. This does not show in reliability monitor and I just wanted to know what exactly was updated about them. Even if it just says "fixed bugs."

    I ended up at one of your threads last night Ed. Got drivers updated to latest but then my OEM Dolby software was being buggy. Was going to try to deal with Realtek Audio Console but just rolled back to the OEM driver. That's another one where I have no clue what was updated. I felt I needed it because the latest Realtek driver is for W10 1809 and mine is from 2016.

    @andyouf
    I'm not aware of anyplace to go to get details about Windows Store app updates. Can't find anything useful on that topic. Very interesting! Do let us know if you come up with something: now you've got me curious!
