I did not install a 32 bit downloader I went to macrium site and downloaded 64 bit downloader but when I tried to install macrium it kept saying I was trying to install a 32 bit version onto a 64 bit system though the downloader said it was a 64 bit. I did have a 32 bit version on my pc this was transferred when I changed from a 32 bit system to 64 bit and I tried to update the program from macrium but would not update or change to 64 bit so I uninstalled it with windows uninstall programs this showed that it had uninstalled then I tried to download 64 bit macrium this is when the problem started and I found that parts of the 32 bit had not uninstalled

This should have been impossible. You cannot upgrade 32-bit Windows 10 to 64-bits, Microsoft's Setup won't let you. You have to do a completely new clean install. Likewise, the Macrium installer won't let you install 32-bit Macrium on 64-bit W10.

Did you use some third-party software to transfer all your installed software from the 32-bit system to the 64-bit one? If so, you inadvertently created a situation that neither the Microsoft uninstaller or Macrium's own was ever designed to cope with. It's hardly surprising that uninstalling failed miserably leaving odd bits in places it shouldn't.

I changed from a 32bit pc to a 64bit pc and transferred programs over with laplink pc mover and the new pc had win10 64 bit already installed. Over time I have been updating 32 bit programs to 64 bit and now I have most of them are done. I had not used macrium for about two years so it was well out of date. The way I finally got macrium on the pc was unorthodox but it fully works. Sometime working out side the box works If you transfer from 32 to 64 bit in files it shows two program files one is just programs the other programs 86 this contains all 32 bit programs

Ah, that would explain it, thanks for solving the mystery.

Yes, 99% of all known programs can be transferred in that way, it seems Macrium is an exception to the rule. Seems the developers never allowed for this possibility as their installer specifically blocks a 32-bit install on a 64-bit OS.
