Sorry, way too many questions all lumped together. Lost me after the first 3 or 4 pages. You need to focus on one thing at a time, then I'll be happy to help. This shotgun approach overwhelms me and I lose interest.

    1. You currently have Oracle VB and you're out of USB ports. Did you consider my suggestion to switch to using Wireless Mouse and Keyboard freeing up USB ports?

    2. You need to install the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack- that matches the version of VB you have installed.

    3. You do need to install VB Guest Additions. You do this by clicking on Devices then selecting Insert Guest Additions CD image.

Once these steps are done you can share the clipboard, drag and drop, and folders with the host. Great for moving data back and forth between the host and VM.

I'll leave the VMWARE questions for Jimbo

That would be great to get that function back again...remember I have not done this for 8 years so memory hazy on how I (or helper?) did it back then!

I'll leave the VMWARE questions for Jimbo Thanks! I'll see what he says-- I already asked the Geek Squad if they will do the install---they are getting back to me on that one as I lucked out I found someone who uses Oracle VM Box and that is who helped with the install...they are looking for someone who uses VMWARE to help with the whole process again!
    Hi Ztruker!

Sorry to leave you in suspense there!

You were so kind to read my numerous questions and pick the most important ones I should do first to answer!

Yes....I will find those two downloads in your #2 and #3 above in the Oracle system and get them installed!
Might help with the other weird things going on.

I just wanted to respond to let you know I'm following what you suggested as it makes 100% sense and I should have a fully working Oracle system before investigating what is going wrong...Doesn't help the system if I don't let the program have access to all the parts that allow it to fully function!
Will do that and return with update!

#1 is easily [using many words!] explained...
I expect too much from the designers... I prefer a trackball mouse...no moving up and down a mouse pad, or using a trackpad and finger.

But there is no combination trackball plus mouse plus "ergonomic--split keyboard" as you see I type a lot!!! so I need to avoid carpel tunnel syndrome (and I use voice type (Dragon Naturally) whenever I can to avoid typing too!)

    Best regards!
    Tenacious.
