    How Can I Recover Contacts On A Samsung S5?

    I hope this is not out of place on this forum.

    Here's the situation: My phone is a Samsung S5. I inadvertently deleted all of my contact information. I do not have gmail or Google backups available. Is there a way to restore my contacts without these backups? I thought the contact data may still be on the SD card. If so, is there a way to recovery it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank You

    Are you sure you deleted and didn't change view?

    It is possible on pretty much all phones to say show me gmail contacts or only this phone or all conatcts.

    Were these contacts sync'ed with gmail and you signed in to gmail and they are gone there as well.

    Unfortunately they were not sync'd with gmail. I sure wish they were. They will be in the future! They seem to be all gone. I was thinking they could still be available, just flagged for deletion. If they were just flagged, I wonder if there is software to extract them. AT&T has been no help at all.

    Thanks for the quick reply

    Unless you saved them on your SIM, sync'd with Google, they are gone. There are forums for Android devices out there.

    Thank you for the replies folks. I have learned a hard lesson. My contacts will be sync'd with Google in the future. You can bet on that!

    Thanks Again

    I would also recommend you extract them to CSV file every so often. An offline backup can be very handy. That is what I do with my outlook.com contacts. They are synced to phone.

    Update: I thought by using my call history, perhaps I could recognize some numbers and identify contacts. After a frustrating morning on the phone with AT&T speaking with four different essentially useless representatives, they were not able to tell me how to access my call history. I did find a way on the internet. It worked and 70% of my contacts have been relisted.

    Again, thank y'all for helping out ...

    Syncing your contacts in the Cloud and making .csv file exports is the way to go. I use Outlook to store contacts on my Android phone which works so long as you install an Outlook account to synch with.

    Hi there
    @TexasBandit

    This for windows also is worth using -- nothing wrong in storing backups in 2 places.
