hello :) @

To be honest changing the port in utorrent does not speed up your download speeds at all.
To get better speeds in utorrent there are a few things to think about.
1. Seeders of the torrent you are downloading.
2. Your own speed from ur ISP.
3. Are you using Fiber, Coax or Adsl / Vdsl ?
( This impacts on the download speeds )
4. What client do you use for torrents?
Some clients perfom better then others.
5. How old is the torrent?
6. The health of the hdd ur downloading to.
7. If the connection you have is adsl, if you upload while you download, speeds will be affected.
Drexie Tv in the yt vid is uing uTorrent v 3.5.4, and that tells me alot about his knowledge.
You should not take his advice, nor should you use this version of uTorrent.
( i mean no disrespect towards Drexie Tv )
But to answer your question about the danger of changing a port in uTorrent.
There is none :)
You change port in uTorrent in case you are not connectable to other peers.
Or if the port that the client is using is busy with another program.
