Windows Photo Viewer won't assign as standard app

I hate the windows 10 photo app, so I want the old one back. Easy right?
Just add the registry entry and you're all set eh? Wrong!

Don't forget to enable sound for the explanation

I haven't had any trouble restoring Windows Photo Viewer as Default on my computers. One thing I have to watch for is a Version Upgrade [and maybe some Build update] resets the Registry to Microsoft's default so I go back and configure again, doesn't take long.

Do this with 3 or 4 different file types, (.jpg, .png, .bmp...), and you may get lucky...

Did you see my video? What you're showing is exactly what I did and it doesn't work.
I see other people are having issues with assigning default apps as well, so it's not just me being stupid.

    Hi,
Fishing story was said that 1809 was degrading quite a few apps like snipping tool....
Seems some updates to 1803 has done the same maybe I'm not updating much anymore seeing I only use 10 for part time benchmarking so I wouldn't know what updates have done
I did notice in 1809 only regular paint could be selected as default.

Hi Everyone, I have had no trouble restoring Windows Photo Viewer either, and I am running the same version of
Windows 10 as Seabottom. In Brink's tutorial I chose Option Two, to Restore Windows Photo Viewer for all accounts, and it works fine.
