Changing the default attachment extension for the snipping tool

After making a new snip with the snipping tool you can send to an email recipient with the image as an attachment.

By default this attachment is a jpg. Is there any way to change the extension so the attachment is always a specific extension? I'd ideally like png.

    Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I'm Win 10 with the 1709 update - I just checked my Snipping Tool and it's still set at JPEG file for saving.. it stays there until I select a different type. When I change it to PNG it will stay there until I change it again.

    Hi,
It's not the saving format I'm looking at, it is the attachment format when you send as an email.

At the moment, I take a snip and then File > Send To > Email Recipient (as attachment).

At this point an email is created with the snip as a jpg. I want to change this so that that by default this is a png.

I don't think you can change that default, though you might test if setting the 'Save as' default to .png helps. The workaround would be to first save as a .png then right-click on the saved file and 'Send to > Mail recipient'.
