I don't have QtTabBar in Windows XP, so I can't check there. But with the normal Windows Explorer, when you switch to List view, there is no column header. In Windows 10, using QtTabBar, when I switch to List view & right click the column header, there's no option to "Size all columns to fit".

In Details view, the options to size columns are available:


Whilst you are correct those options aren't present in List view, if I select 'Size Column to Fit' in Details view, that setting still applies in List view.

I find deselecting the option only has an effect when I next relaunch file explorer.

Thanks for this information & I'll remember it for QtTabBar. In Windows XP, File Explorer (then called Windows Explorer) doesn't have an option to "Size all columns to fit". You can double click on the column divider though, & it will size that column to fit. I don't think many people still have WinXP.

The first is most recent first for me.

Personally I use something that is more generally available- not just in file explorer.
a. extra buttons in the title bar (I happen to use Actual Window Manager, there's also Extra Buttons (free).
or
b. Listary (more features than you might expect... free version available).

These also make favourite folders and recent files and folders etc available in many open/save dialogues.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean. Under History, I see this:

But if I look for recent tabs or recent files, they are listed in the order of the last one used, then 2nd to last, etc.

Here's a screenshot of my history settings as well. They look very similar to yours.

Hmm. I guess I've never used that downward chevron. When I hover, I see Recent locations, but when I click on it, nothing happens...it's empty. I can sometimes add a tab & it'll will allow me to switch.

One thing I've used extensively is the "create a group"
, so it's possible that I haven't had a need for reordering recent history. If you haven't yet, I prefer searching to folders & files using Search Everything, so you might try that & see if it serves your needs.
