Thanks, I tried that but it seems buggy.
The tabs for the left pane appear at the bottom, and locking them does not stick.
I tried all sort of settings, including 'synchronise horizontal position…' but nothing solves it.
    Maybe it's a bug introduced in 2048 beta2.

Is the developer following this forum to learn about issues like these?

I sincerely doubt it. While I like QTTabBar, use it, & have even donated, I've made suggestions, but have never gotten a response.

Wow, I don't know how I could have missed that, thanks.

Still, something such as locking tabs doesn't seem to work on the left panel, and I am not sold on the layout.
I'm going to try out some alternative file managers this weekend to see if there is one comparable with QT but with proper dual panes.

QTTabbar has some unique features, many of which can take some time to discover, but doesn't provide dual pane presentation in quite as finished or identical fashion as purpose-designed programs such as, say, Freecommander or XYplorer.

Note that whilst you can try to set some other file manager as the default in place of file explorer, you won't achieve that completely. There will be some exceptions.

I have been using Freecommander a few years, XYPlorer for at lest 10 years and in the past year Tablacus. A month ago, I decided to write a basic AutoHotkey program to open 2 Files Explorer windows, one snapped on the left the other snapped on the right of the screen. I am also using QttabBar 2048 for the tabs. With a few shortcut key I can swith panel, open any other windows ... I can do any things as the three others can do ... and more. If you Ctrl+Click twice on the Explorer icon in the task bar, both windows appears ... So I have the best of the four world and I am working with dual panel! QTTabBar's Extra Views can give multi-pane processing.

Hello, I've just switched from maaaany years of Clover on Windows 7/10 to QTTabBAR which is GREAT and has many useful options

Just one request for now, after spending some time setting up my workflow : I mainly use "list view" for my folders and on some of them, columns are not always resized the right way, so files/subfolders with long names are truncated (check my capture).

This is weird because some other folders columns looks perfect with no truncated names...

By the way, is there any way to resize manually columns on list view ? I think it is possible with Clover.

    Thanks !

Hover your mouse between the column headers until the mouse changes shape, then you can drag to change size.
