Not sure this is caused by QTTabBar, but when I would open File Explorer (say a Downloads folder that's pinned to the taskbar or a folder that's opened with "Search Everything"), the focus used to be on the files in that folder, so that I could use the keyboard immediately to get to a file.

All of a sudden, the focus is on the navigation column & I have to use Tab to switch the focus to the files. Is there a setting in QTTabBar that affects that?

    Thanks in advance.
Yes it is due to QTTabBar but never managed to fix this issue. I recently formated, so before to install QTTabBar is decided to be sure, it is the guilty one!
When I want to look for a file by its first letter like always in Windows folder, lets say I push "D", it is supposed to take you to first file, its name start by letter "D" as it as always been, and if you want more advance research in the said folder you need manually give focus (with the mouse) to Search box of each folder top right.
After I installed QTTabBar, it always give focus to search box! Now more to folder where files are!! Even without to give focus to search box with Mouse, it always has focus, when I push a single letter...

Before we had to write a bit in the search box, then click on "Search" , now even with a single letter it already starts the searching process!! It would have been nice if it at least it remove all the rest file in the said folder, and just showing the files, starting by letter "D"...
I guess it is an issue between Windows Explorer and QTTabBar...

In Version 1038, when focus is set to 'None', it defaults to folder items focus, (the first item just isn't highlighted)
I'm sure this setting remains the same in 1043, but I could be wrong...

Thx, but it is not much related to "seach" of a file, more as you shown "when a new Windows is opened"
I looked into it a for me it is setted to "None". So I left it as there other option dispo dont interest me much....

Anybody knows a cool way to close a Tab other than "X" and other than Keyboard combo "Ctrl+W" ??
Explanation: on Chrome, I am using a nice Extension "Close Tab by Double Right Click", as the name say Double Mouse Right Click, and a Tab is closed, pretty neat. So was wondering if was possible with Explorer. Or maybe add an additional thing to Right Cick Context Menu... Like this for Chrome.

Thx much, yep I use it but it is middle click on the Tab or Tab name. not anywhere in the Window...
Maybe it is more related to Mouse itself...
But I discovered Middle Mouse Click in the Windows = Ctrl + A (Select All), so maybe possible to change the setting to "Close Tab".... Also "Double Left Click" in the Windows = One Level Back, So maybe possible to tweak those settings somewhere.....

Thank you, Edwin!! I looked, but apparently missed that setting. Mine was set to Navigation bar, although I never deliberately set it that way. I changed it to "None". Problem solved.
