    I actually uninstalled QTTabBar to have the "lag" conditions remain. I've narrowed the issue down to Google's Backup and Sync software. So far I seem to have received a fix from a Rep that works. I'm still testing to see if this fix actually effective and lasting.

    Good news- looks like Qttabbar 1041 - just out- fixes the display sizing issues some have always seen in Options.

    Indeed. I can now read all of the options in the settings window now without having to change the text size! Also, with the new version, the right click menu and tab operations seem to be snappier (if that is such a word) with less delay.

    Can anyone say if video/ image previews and playback work without Windows Media Player?

    It's just that I use another tabbed file manager that works with most (but not all) media files and it doesn't need WMP.

    Or can it be configured to use other media players/ image viewers for previews?

    Yes.

    You can add whatever file types the preview handler supports.
