I have set mine to have an X but it's still not easy to delineate them with a quick glance, I often am working between many tabs at once
That may work but then the image would need to be absolutely precise in terms of fitting the tab width exactly and wouldn't tile nicely.
A way I have found to solve the issue which is very handy in of itself is to enable "Display Tab Icon" and "show sub folder menu", that makes the tabs better separated and very nifty when you realise you need to change to a different subfolder.
![]()
This popped up in a simple Text Document on my desktop a few days ago. As far as I can tell it's still working fine.![]()
No questions on my part, just thought you'd like to see what it says. I don't code, so, have at it.

Hi all, ive been searching for a long time and cant seem to wrap my head around it. When we use Ctrl + T a new tab opens and its directed at @SYSTemRoof%\explorer.exe Now im wondering, is Qttabbar doing this? Im doubting it does since now where in the app do i see this shortcut.
Does someone have any idea how i can change this location to a custom location?
Well, CTRL T does nothing in file explorer for me-- I've not changed the default hotkeys keyboard shotcuts.
