@Hastalevista,
Sorry, I've found all versions of QTTabBar to be a little quirky, but IMHO, still very much worth using as they are minor things I can't list out for you. That's why I have 1043 on all my PCs.

Cool thanks Steve, I'll give it a go
One of the features that QTTabBar has that I find invaluable is Groups. If you find that you want several of the same tabs open at a time, just put them into a group. One click opens an entire group. You can set it up so that you can either have another group (i.e. leave the current tabs open, but add a group of new ones) or that opening a new group closes whatever is currently open.

I always try out the "latest" version...I guess I don't follow my own advice.
I'm still at 2004. If I really wanted to follow my advice, I'd be using a dial-up phone.![]()

Come back if you have questions after you install 1043 and I/we will try to answer them.
Did you know about free Windoze insurance: Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect I wish I found out sooner.
I'm still using version 1038...,
... the only reason for that is because 1042/1043 doesn't play nicely with 'Windows Blinds'.
Aside from that, I think the last three versions, 1038/1042/1043, work flawlessly!

Do these latest versions not capture Win+E?
I see the option is greyed out and it doesn't do it by default, also doesn't seem to capture new tabs
It also doesn't seem to be able to remember all your open tabs, I did set it to do that but it doesn't seem to do that very well.
Also how to change the default behaviour when closing the window, I want it to close the whole window not just the current tab?
Go into QT settings and play with this setting - check it everywhere you find it (two places)
Options - QTTabBar Manual
"Always restore tabs at startup
Preserves tabs when a folder window is closing and reopens them in next window."
The quirks have begun. Use that QT manual web link above - it's handy.
One thing about QT is tooooo many damn settings IMHO.![]()
