Well either I missed your update or you didn't try it yet?

Too busy earning all those new decorations maybe? - congrats again
    Haha!
I tried 1043, got the same unfavorable results as with 1042, went back to 1038!

After a recent Win10 x64 v20H2 reset, I noticed that File Explorer with QtTabBar v1043 (with OpenShell v4.4.160) seems to still run a little heavy. Explorer seems a little slower to open windows and tabs than before.

Does anyone have any suggestions on settings or options to change or turn on or off to help? I did turn off the submenu options and changed the image/audio/video preview to to show up using the shift key rather than automatically.

    Thanks!

I'm still on 1038, I've found in the past when your history and image cache gets bloated, it gets a bit laggy; I just re-install!

What is this "history and image cache"? A Windoze or QTTabBar thing? No way to clear it/them? Re-install what? QTTabBar or Windoze?

Are you referring to the history and image cache for the thumbnail previews in Explorer handled through QtTabBar? Would it be better to disable the previews altogether?

QTTabBar thing, yes you can clear them. Re-install QT.

To be honest, my ROG machine can handle a huge cache and history, my dinosaur Pavilion is the laggy one!

I found that switching the option to automatically show previews of text, image, audio and video files to only when left clicking the mouse + depressing the shift key helped a little bit.

The only thing I really use QtTabBar are for the Tabs. Is there anything else I should disable/switch off?

Is 1043 stable and 100% working?
And if not what currently is the best version.

I'm still using QTTabBar_1.5.0.0 beta 2 from way back when that amazingly is still 100% stable and works near flawlessly baring Dark mode and I'd hate to mess up a good thing.
