Thank you for your response. That's a little different because I was wondering about the desktop tool, where you double click on the taskbar or desktop to bring up the items shown in my first post.

I think yours is what you see when you right click a folder in the navigation pane of an open File Explorer window. Is that right?

    Yes, that is correct.

...that's how you open new tabs in Chrome...
    Yuppers!
And, if you perform that action often and have an advanced mouse, you could assign a button for that purpose...

That's a great idea & I do have an advanced mouse. However, I assigned the side kick button to File Explorer & use that frequently. However, you gave me an idea. The wheel button was assigned to "Instant viewer", which didn't give me anything I needed. So I just have to decide whether I want the wheel button assigned to Ctrl+Click or Magnify (the advantage of the latter is that I can start & stop the magnify option with 1 click).

Of course! I was just trying to make it so that when I Shift + Click, the folder opens in a new window.
if you are still looking to do that,it is working for me by pressing CTRL+ middle button of your mouse, it open the folder you clicked on with this key combo in a new windows, instead to left click on the folder, and choose open in a new Window.
PS: it is working natively like that I think, I did not modd to much settings of QTabBar for it to behave this way...

Right click on a button and choose Set Icon, however, I haven't a clue where the default resources would be but, you could browse through the suggested dll's

    Attachment 293177

    It's either that or, re-install version 1038!
Well, it's taken awhile, but changing the icons has been very educational. I installed 1041 & changed almost all the icons, so that they now look like this:

At the same time, I found that I could modify or create new QTTabBar icons. Basically, I just used a screen snip of the QTTabBar icon, then opened it in Paint, colored it & saved it as a jpeg. Then I opened it in Irfanview (I think you could use any image editor) & saved it as an .ico file. Other icons, I just searched for & saved everything in a folder that I could point to.

If anyone is interested in having the icons, I would be happy to upload them here.

    Not sure, haven't tried!

Either way, back up your settings first!

I'm still on 1038! The 1040 versions don't work well for me!
