What I mean is the immediate issue (if it doesn't stay associated) isn't a difficult problem. Simply right-click the target file and open in Notepad++

It's still a quick two clicks to open from the File Explorer.
Gotcha - you mean the "open with" option of course.

Sorry mate - I was thinking of 7-Zip which is on my context menu as it's always been

This Is right-click on a txt file:

No worries, it's probably going to be a cumulative that fixes it for people eventually.

This is where i find myself too. Using the Update Blocking tool found on this forum i've wrested back control of updates from our MS overlords and will decide for myself what, and when, i install them. 'Feature' updates will be deferred indefinitely until MS releases a finished product.

You reckon any of us will live that long?
But, seriously, I couldn't agree more

Although it can be a hassle sometimes, and I may complain like most, I also realize the Insider versions are Beta releases and are buggy. I don't use the Insider as my working/production OS. I keep it mainly to verify my recording studio software will work on the advanced versions.

The thing is when your working/production OS is as buggy as an insider build...
