    Free Windows Cleanup Tool

Another choice to use over CCleaner if you desire to do so.

Download Free Windows Cleanup Tool - MajorGeeks

Free Windows Cleanup Tool is a free app with a collection of tools to optimize your PC's performance. Video tutorial available.

Free Windows Cleanup Tool has a familiar interface using three columns. The first has all the tools, the second has optional settings, and the last is a status window. So, let's take a look at all the included tools.

The Cleaner tab has settings for all modern browsers and instant messengers, Windows, Office, Advanced, Applications, and custom lists. Custom lists allow you to add any file, folder or registry hive. You can check any one of the categories we mentioned, which will highlight everything in that category and allow you to uncheck whatever you like one at a time. You can test what will be deleted before and clean once you're happy.

The Registry tab is straightforward with all sections on by default. Once again you can manually uncheck any part of the registry you don't want to scan, or better yet, skip cleaning your registry entirely. As we've repeatedly mentioned, registry cleaning will rarely repair or fix anything, but it can break something.

How reliable is it in practice and is it updated? I'm wary of many of these minor utilities. I recently stopped using PatchCleaner since I discovered it breaks the Office 2010 update process.

    Hi there

a lot of these things which were reasonably reliable a few Windows versions ago are these days O nothing better than Snake Oil -- you are far better off taking reasonable backups before changing anything on your system or downloading risky stuff. Clean restore will always fix any "Hard to uninstall" or nasty Virus problems.

With decent FREE imaging software around there's no excuse not to backup systems regularly.

If you've got stuff that won't uninstall using either the Ms add/remove programs or the software's own uninstall program then you've got a system that's not functioning 100% - so an even better reason to clean image restore.

    Cheers

Avoid to use these third-party apps. It's annoying !

The best cleaning solution I recommend you is CCleaner by Piriform Company. Don't complicate things so !

    You don't need CCleaner either.

As noted above you are contradicting yourself.

No, you're wrong. I appreciate and recommend iObit for its quality to work in a machine. There are fake commercials from Malwarebytes or other companies about these guys.

But you need, if you are not an expert. For beginners or standard users is recommended to use this kind of software.

Looks like a clone/rebrand of this.

I do not know, I tried it once and the removed it. I can see a lawsuit coming their way as the GUI is identical to CCleaner. I would use Wise Disk Cleaner or CCleaner 5.40 before this.

I would advise that no one use this program.
