Need help getting Windows 10 News notifications working again.

    Oh.. I saw this recent thread in these forums here about the Action Center having stopped working, and noticed the current W10 version is 1809. I checked mine, and it's 1803. So I ran a check for new updates, and it reported I'm up to date.

    There could be differences in the menu given I use build 1709... don't rush to get 1809- buggy still, and delivery is restricted by MS.

    Okay. That thread I pointed to on Action Center not working was specifically about problems after the 1809 upgrade. And my PC is still running 1803 as my notebook is. So I'll cross off hat as being the culprit.

    I found a post by margrave55 that narrowed down this issue to the service 'Windows Push Notifications User Service_xxxxx' Running the command 'net start WpnUserService_xxxxx' got Action Center notifications working again. But only for a few hours. I opened services.msc and changed the startup type from 'Manual' to 'Automatic' and started it. But something is stopping it after a few hours of the system just idling. So it's a matter of determining what's causing that service to stop.
