I have a (paid) Revo Uninstaller Pro. I downloaded the new 4.0 on my Insider version (Revo wasn't previoously installed on the Insider version). My initial thought "I hate it". Its sort of dumbed down and all the extra unneeded bloatware added. Like a lot of applications, they have got away from what the basic program is for and added lots of extras (that duplicates other apps I have).

Not really a fan of going to a subscription model for this type of software. Unless it means you stop receiving tech support and future updates but the software will continue to work. Version 3 updates happen so infrequently I can't justify a yearly subscription.

    Does anyone know?

Got to agree with thunderclap. Fired up Revo for the first time in a while and got a notice to upgrade to Revo 4 portable at a price of $29.95 "for one year"! Excellent program but not sure I use it enough for "one year subscriptions". Wonder what the price will be in a year, two years, three years? Not sure I am liking this at all. Think I will just stay with 3.2.1 for now and research other options.

Version 4.0.1 is far superior than 3.2.1. You do not have to renew the subscription after one year. It will not stop working.

Have no doubt 4 is much better. I have used Revo for years and absolutely love the program when I needed which now days is not very often. I have never had a Revo upgrade state that it was for one year so that kinda turned me off. Too much like Microsoft Office subscription which I have absolutely refused to go to. Did send Revo an email, will see what they say! Thanks Josey Wales for your response. Will stay with Revo if that ends up being the case.

Great part is that also uninstalls APPs. Just cleaned out most of them MS though I would like but I don't.

MS is playing with something in 19H1 to give a broader uninstall for crucial store apps, like Crush My Saga, and all the good stuff.....
