Recommendation "Run from RAM" vs "Run from USB" for Plugins?

Ok, I can specify whether a Plugin should be run from USB or Run from RAM.

I wonder what the (dis)advantages of these options are.

If "Run from RAM" allows faster start and execution due to usage of ram disk why not always running from RAM?

    Whats the recommended selection?

A Little Help With StartIsBack Config

Very new to this excellent build tool. I've been testing what works (and as noted by Kyhi, what doesn't) and have a perfect compact suite of included apps which work from a Ventoy-booted .XPE ISO.

Please can someone spoon-feed me the process of adding a small registry entry. I've customised StartIsBack interface from the reg.txt files. Stripped out Favorites and Downloads, (Nice to be able to do that), but I can't apply "SmallTaskbarIcons" via that route.

The reg merge I want via explorer is:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]"TaskbarSmallIcons"=dword:00000001

I've tried the "reg merge" above from within XPE and restarted explorer and it works fine.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Add this code to "Additions" Registry section
    Code:
    RegWrite,HKLM,0x4,Tmp_Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced,TaskbarSmallIcons,1

To save rebuilding, you could add this line to pecmd.ini

    REGI #HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\\TaskbarSmallIcons=1

Thank you both K & S for your responses. 'Tmp_Default' hmm... I now have a very competent and compact mini-win environment. Perfect. I just need to work out how to add a few more 'Pin to Start Menu' shortcuts which aren't currently available from the app config interface. But it will be fun to work out.
