Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media

as far as i can see non of it is working - have just done another build from a clean dir and nothing works

the reg file is a dump of windowmetrics - most of it is system standard - the mods to it are to 3 font sizes - caption - icon and menu - the rest as i say is standard

i know it works as i run it on a normal build after i install a new theme

the theme may be the key - windows 10 will not allow 3rd party themes without mods to a couple of dll's - i use uxthemepatcher to use 3rd party themes

so i am wondering if windows is simply over riding the reg import in some way from its stock theme

changing the fonts is not life or death but its just become an annoyance now - something to resolve - i got into this project and could not even get a build to work - with help here and a lot of playing i have got to understand some of it - this is just another puzzle

    enough from me

    the reg file

    (I don't use win10xpe builder)
But, Yet offer advice contrary to the Builder Topic Here...

    Load Win10XPE
    Launch Regshot2 Program
Take First Shot - Whole Registry
Adjust Your Font Sizes while in Win10PE
Take Second Shot - Whole Registry
    Save Report.1.RedoReg.txt from Desktop\Regshot
    Boot into Host OS
    Launch Win10XPE Builder
Launch from left pane - Create ISO
    Select - Reg Convert PE
Point to the saved - Report.1.RedoReg.txt
    Hit goo reg file
    then Save...

That will be the registry settings as exported from PE after your Font changes...
If the Font Changes took effect while in PE, then your build should also effect those changes

If the reg changes don't work by merging prior to launching explorer ( most do ), the other way is to integrate them into the hives.

went through the above - i understood most of it up to the save at the end - i checked the generated script file and the reg values were the new settings - what then just write to the usb with Rufus or do i have to import the script in any way

if its just write to the usb then the font changes did not happen when i booted PE

unless i am missing something or there is an easy answer lets leave it - it does not detract from the disc - just makes it easier for my eyes
