SIW2 - I know you are a very exceptional and knowledgeable PE Builder...
But 99.99% of the Users here are not... And are at best at the very basic stage of understanding PE...
I was hoping to guide them through the use of ChrisR's XPE Project, so they could create PE Media for themselves...

Thought you might want to put together a little cmd file to do this for them Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media - Page 5 - Windows 10 Forums

I don't feel disposed to teach people how to make pe by hand.

Thank you very much everyone on this thread, specially Kyhi and other author(s). I have succesfully created two custom PE ISOs in my own language and tested them and they work wonderfully. Great program although not the best user friendly in the world.

I have created myself a step guide how to add a portable app (so I can refer to it in future when I forget how to do it - LOL).

As @Kyhi says, there are several ways - this works for me. If interested, see Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

PS - love the start up tune!

    Hello.

I am having trouble running my x86 ISO on a crappy laptop with just 1GB RAM. The issue I am having is that I need to place a workable swapfile somewhere but without requiring to restart the system. Any ideas?

PS - Using bootable partition isn't an option, because then I cannot lock the drive and I cannot do a Macrium Reflect image for instance. Using any other partition (or even boot usb) requires to restart the system.

PS2 - Okay. I found a dirty workaround: I created a zero byte pagefile.sys on second partition using Notepad. It now works without restarting the system but I would like to know if there is a more elegant solution. Don't know why you can't do this for usb sticks (probably a limitation because they are removable media - it sounds logical).

Thank you. Very clear. Going to try it in a few minutes.

Edit: What version of Macrium did you use, Free or Premium, as the source? I don't see a portable version.
Edit#2: Looks like Free on original Win10XPE so that's what I'll use.
Edit#3: Switched to ImgBurn Portable as Macrium already there. Followed same steps and looks good so far, building now. Will create flash drive and test in a few minutes. This is fun!

I'm signed in here from the Win10XPE I just built, YEAH

I removed the stuff I didn't want and added two programs I did want, ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP. Both work perfectly.
This is too much fun, I'm not getting anything else done.

It has been 3.5 years now for me...
    And I still enjoy it...

Glad to see people trying and testing what they created....

I see some liking to add Macrium (Retail version)
My XPE Plugin for Macrium is PE version...

To properly test your new plugin -
Deselect all other APPs (uncheck Apps Folder)
    Select Just your New Plugin
    Select Build Core Plugin
    Select Create ISO Plugin

Test if launches without error -
select the "About" - trial or paid or if registered
    does it open file type
does it scan or create required file
    etc...

Note: Macrium has several Required MS Files, Needs a few Registry Entries and the retail version requires two driver files be copied into system32/drivers

Your homework is to figure out the above

I use Home - I simply copied files from my C drive installation into a zip file.

MR executable is clever enough to run in winpe mode or full windows mode depending on what environment is running (don't ask me how or why).

One minor issue is it runs unlicenced if you have a licence - I think this is becasue winpe registry does not have the registry settings needed. I have a cunning plan to try and sort this but need to test it. It works fine but will not allow Redeploy to be used.

Once you get hang of adding fully portable apps, you are now able to make a lot of customisations but going to next level is serious effort (but fun).
