I downloaded the 1.85GB Win10_1803U_v20180908 x64 ISO in just over 6 minutes, not bad, definitely acceptable. I have a 50 Mbps connection (AT&T).

    @Kyhi

Is it possible to apply drivers to the boot.wim using the traditional DISM method (such as Intel RST Win10 drivers)?

The latest Win 10 ISO I have, Win10X64_17134.228_1803.iso, download from Microsoft has install.esd, not install.wim. Win10XPE.exe doesn't work.

Don't remember if I got this via MCT or via some other method. I'll try again using MCT.

Edit: No help, MCT download gives me install.esd.

    Trying direct ISO download now.

Edit#2: Okay, got install.wim with direct ISO download. Onward !!!

Edit #3: Took almost 30 minutes to build Win10XPE_X64.iso. I included your plugins addon pack. Making flash drive now, will see if it boots okay.

My first build worked great. Booted perfectly and everything worked. Love this new tool. Play time now.

Ah, missed the whole selection process. Running it again with my choices. Will see how that goes. Also should not have to download anything this time.

Edit: Much better, 8-9 minutes that time. Making new flash drive then will try boot. Should be fine. Next is to try adding new programs/apps.

Many thanks for this tool. It's excellent and fun. Perfect combination.

Had some fun using Win10PXE. It looks great but not intuitive. I spent some time on the .org site reading facts and kind of worked out how to add a portable app (showkeyplus) using one of the utility options, but it came up with an error message about not copying a folder to the programs folder (in iso directory).

I manually copied the showkeyplus folder with the app and a shortcut, and created the iso, and sure enough it was there and working. I am sure this is not the way to do it though.

Only issue with above is that I cannot create a desktop shortcut (I could mount boot.wim and do it manually).

So I guess I am saying I do not fully understand how to simply add an app using gui. I did read your faqs, and even watched a couple of youtube videos, but I cannot quite get it right from the gui (I know how to manually do it using dism mounting).

I accept on the .org site, it is expected for users to self learn, but I agree with your original comment that this is really the way to go ie encourage users to build their own.

I would say the minimum skill needed for a beginner is to learn how to create iso (you covered that), and how to add portable apps.

If you can help me do latter, then I am willing to spend some time collating this together and create a polished beginners step by step tutorial if you like, to save you some time and effort?

Then we can add more tutorials as everbody gains experience?

As an aside, perhaps we should create a new thread of winpxe?

There were some instructions posted on how to modify WinPESE. Do they still apply to Win10XPE and if so, anyone have a link to them? I can't find them now.

    See post #308.

You can do same with the winxpe iso but I am sure it can be done from winpxe gui.
