I agree with ChrisR that disabling Secure Boot is a security issue, in general Ventoy needs to assure its users that the program is safe. I know the full source code is available, but (like XPE) users must be able to trust these tools 100%.
If I'm not really a fan of disabling secure boot. Ot's not really for the security itself but more to avoid manipulations in the BIOS, Before and After.
The design of the UEFI secure boot has complicated the task for bootable USB drive
It's a general concern since the UEFI. LongPanda's made efforts to try to support secure booting but it can't be perfect unfortunately
It's only related to my use, but Ventoy seems very interesting and will suit many.

Hi everyone. Long time lurker. Decided to join because I need some assistance with this and I've not had any luck getting it to work. But before that....

Thank you for all of the various discussions had. It's been informative and gives good insight to doing repairs when certain problems arise.

Thank you for the tools made available - created and found/compiled - they make things easier to get stuff done.

    So into it now...

I have a license for Hard Disk Sentinel. I use the portable version when checking things on PCs, but I've had absolutely no luck getting it to work. The error you see below is what I get regardless of how I build the PE. I also get this error when I use the rescue disk by Kyhi.

those appear to be Apps that use > innounp.exe to extract the setup file -
Verify that > "\Win10XPE\Projects\Tools\innounp.exe" < is not blocked
Add an AV (Windows Defender) exception for the base Win10XPE folder -
    then re-extract the Project Release..
AV is disabled and still get the issue. There are no errors as such when the ISO is being created. Nothing major (I think). However, I know it can work in WinPE because it does with one done for a corporate setting that I managed to get my hands on. It boots into that environment and then I can load HDS. But I can't get it to work for myself.

Thinking now that maybe I can replace some of the bootable files in the corporate image I have with the one I created and maybe get it to work....If anyone has a workaround in mind then let me know please. Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!

    *EDIT*
So. After actually getting up off my behind and attempting some stuff - I got it to work. Simply by copying the icmp.dll to the HDS folder. The file can be found on your Win10 PC. I guess it can be extracted from the setup DVD as well, and some places may also have it available for download.

Thanks for the assistance all the same - hopefully the info will help others to get some of their things working.

I am curious though - is there any pre-configured package that I could have selected to get the file integrated into the PE? Out of curiosity.

Not to my knowledge, the best would be to create a plugin with XPE Application Creator and add icmp.dll dependency
    Code:
    If,%Architecture%,Equal,x64,ExtractWimFile,\Windows\SysWOW64\icmp.dll,%GTarget_Win%\SysWOW64,1
    Else,ExtractWimFile,\Windows\System32\icmp.dll,%GTarget_Sys,1
    or
    Code:
    ExtractSectionFiles,%ScriptFile%,AddFiles
    If,%Architecture%,Equal,x64,ExtractSectionFiles,%ScriptFile%,AddFiles6432

    [AddFiles]
    \Windows\System32\icmp.dll

    [AddFiles6432]
    \Windows\SysWOW64\icmp.dll

poss needs additional version to give 5.61 trial with registration ability, you seem to be able to add a HDSentinel.hdk keyfile if you have a registered ver

    edit2:
just seen that's what is already done for the giveaway 5.4 version

I can only imagine your suggesting how I need things to be explained by others to myself, otherwise, I'm confused
