Samsung Magician tries to run and fails - error message at same time

I suddenly realized that Samsung Magician was not running and when I tried to run it, it started examining disks (I have 5 Samsung SSDs on my desktop). I also have one Transcend SSD but all these disks have been installed and in use for over a year. After less than a minute I get an error message saying Samsung Magician encountered an error and has to shut down. Also tried running it as admin but same problem. I'm reasonably sure all the disks are actually ok.
I found this in the Windows Log/System
A service was installed in the system.Service Name: MagicianSataModeReaderService File Name: C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\magdrvamd64.sysService Type: kernel mode driverService Start Type: demand startService Account:
Then discovered there is a task set to run magician but the task has no address as to where Magician resides on the computer and it won't let me edit.
The Task Name is Samsung Magician, Next Run Time is Blank, Trigger: At logon of any user, Location:\ and then nothing.
Would I be better off just uninstalling and reinstalling Magician if I could get it from their website?
    Thanks.

I used this software some time ago also , but dont use it anymore , it has absolutely no use at all !
It delays the booting of your OS , and its very unreliable and unstable , my advice ; just uninstall this crap..............

You do not need it. It actually wears out the SSD early.

Thanks - that makes sense - it never has done much. What would you recommend I use to keep an eye on the temperature of the disks as this can be a concern given that I have several, plus a 4tb WD.

Magician has several good features like for instance:

Turning on Turbo on SATA drives, benchmark or safe disk erase but doesn't have to be installed and running all the time. Set what you want and uninstall.

Thanks a lot for the information. Is there any downside to setting the disks to run in turbo? It sounds good - what does it actually do?
If I can get a new copy and get it working, I can turn it on and off as I wish by not having it run at startup and (somehow) deleting the task.

    Hi,
SS magician is not needed except if you want to update your firmware which again moto is if it's not broken don't fix it
Over provisioning is nothing more than having free space available on the ssd so not filling it up is also just as easy than having bloatware doing it for you lol

Like most just using a performance power plan and disable hdd shut off or set the timing higher than it would ever activate will do the same thing as turbo does
Or in bios disable c states.

That "Turbo" is called Rapid mode by Samsung, it's a bit of limited use. It takes part of RAM and cashes data to be read/written and so speeds up some operations. Over-provisioning can be adjusted only thru Magician.
ssd - Is it beneficial to enable Rapid Mode on a Samsung solid state drive? - Super User

I've installed it but don't let it auto run. Try uninstalling then reinstalling the latest version of Magician if it won't load.
