Samsung Magician tries to run and fails - error message at same time
I suddenly realized that Samsung Magician was not running and when I tried to run it, it started examining disks (I have 5 Samsung SSDs on my desktop). I also have one Transcend SSD but all these disks have been installed and in use for over a year. After less than a minute I get an error message saying Samsung Magician encountered an error and has to shut down. Also tried running it as admin but same problem. I'm reasonably sure all the disks are actually ok.
I found this in the Windows Log/System
A service was installed in the system.Service Name: MagicianSataModeReaderService File Name: C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\magdrvamd64.sysService Type: kernel mode driverService Start Type: demand startService Account:
Then discovered there is a task set to run magician but the task has no address as to where Magician resides on the computer and it won't let me edit.
The Task Name is Samsung Magician, Next Run Time is Blank, Trigger: At logon of any user, Location:\ and then nothing.
Would I be better off just uninstalling and reinstalling Magician if I could get it from their website?
Thanks.
