Nox is pretty good. Note if Hyper-V is enabled, android emulators crash.

I made the mistake of having a Windows phone so can't use some key apps - e.g. banking apps which let you credit a cheque.

Do Android emulators like these function with a laptop devices like the camera to provide the same functionality as an Android phone?

    Hi there.

the main difficulty with Android emulators on standard PC's is that Android devices are essentially build as touch screen applications -- if you have a non touch screen PC using the mouse doesn't usually work properly.

You sometimes can get some type of luck with an IR controller - but if you want to play around with Android applications and not use a phone for it why not buy a cheap Android tablet -- you'll get a far more pleasurable experience and usually these tablets have decent connectivity to computers anyway for file sharing etc.

Trying to emulate an Android Phone ROM though is a much tougher proposition to do on a PC even if it's possible,

    Cheers

Rather than emulate you can access the phone from the PC

The Teamviewer application now has an Android App that allows you to access an android device remotely, not an emulator as such but does allow you to "run your android apps from your Laptop or PC. There is also the Pushbullet application suite, that displays android notifications on the PC and allows you to send and receive texts on the PC, Windows 10 can already handle some other comms for the android system natively, so it's possible to integrate the two

Mobile software for various operating systems TeamViewer: Remote Control (Android, iOS, Universal Windows Platform, and BlackBerry)

You will also need the Teamviewer application suite on your PC, Free for personal use

The remote access app (TeamViewer Quick Support) is great but is not on all phones i.e. it is vendor and model specific - see TV website for more info. It will run on any phone that is rooted though.

Nox works fine on a non touch device by and large. Games may be an issue though.

There are a few things that I do not like with the way that android is marketed and sold, the main one is the way that ISP's, (and indeed hardware manufacturers), mess about with the basic OS that prevents even systems that should work, from doing so, this is even worse than TV themselves state as an ISP modified phone can have the access to standard features blocked even though the actual device is compatible.

I find that the Teamviewer/Pushbullet system is Ideal for me and would, and have, recommended it to any IT user putting together a comprehensive system for mobile computing for personal or especially Business uses. I would recommend that any user with a possible need for what the Teamviewer and, especially the Pushbullet system, can provide for integration take a look at it - The fact that I am informed on my my PC screen of any activity on my phone, (or actually Phones), and can respond quickly

    Hi there

slightly OT but a lot of phones come with hideous bloatware - I don't know a Single Samsung Android user who has for example ever used Bixby and there's posts all over the place on people asking how to get rid of it.

Rooting ("Jail Breaking") phones does enable you to get rid of all that junk but you then get problems if you use any banking applications - especially touch payments etc as they won't work on "Rooted phones" -- consumer always gets hosed -- no point in having 16 GB memory phone if 50% of it is filled with un-installable garbage !!.

    OK end RANT.

Nox is interesting to play with but I can't get it to work within a VM !! I.e 2nd level VM.

    Cheers
