    Installation of non Microsoft Skype

A friend of mine is not pc savvy, a friend screwed up his skype. We have been trying to reinstall it but it keeps coming up with asking for his microsoft account which he has long forgotten. I even went 'down the tubes' to look at his pc.

Bearing in mind he knows very little, I am looking for a none microsoft skype download that does not get interfered with requests for MS accounts and an idiots guide to install this on a pc so that it installs what he used to have.

I have sent him several lniks, including links for older versions, all of which butt in with MS. Surely there is a MS free copy out there somewhere???

I have had skype on mine for years and its MS free. He does not want the MS version as it bombards him with ads

I'm confused as to what you mean by " MS free"?

I'm also confused by "I am looking for a none microsoft skype download that does not get interfered with requests for MS accounts", I believe Skype is Copyrighted and the name can't be used by anyone else so you'd have to Search for a different product. Some third-party softwares don't get messed with by Microsoft but it's still possible. Also consider that other products may not mesh well with Skype. Check the possibilities I found with Duckduckgo.com Search:

Skype was not owned by Microsoft unril recently. There are still version available, like mine, that does not throw Miscrosoft in your face. Microsoft will not allow people to use Skype without entering a microsoft account, but the stand alone skype does!! THATS the difference. He once had Microsoft (MS) Skyper and it flooded his pc with ****** ads.

Searching for alternatives is not on as all his contacts are on 'olde' Skype.

7.41.101 is the version thats microsoft free, I found it on a third party site, I have sent the link to my friend, hopefully job done ...................................................... this is the ver I use in Win 10.

MS free; MS being Microsoft, with accompanying ads

You can use even the newest version of Skype (for desktop) without a Microsoft account & you can just sign in with your old Skype account after installation. You don't need any sign on of any sort to download it.
