    Microsoft Store Error 800700002

So, my Windows 10 Pro Desktop cannot download or update any store apps, each time of trying get the error 80070002.
My Laptop on Windows 10 Pro, works fine with all store apps.
Both use the same account to login to the store.
    Both are Windows 10 17134.167

So, any idea of the problem?
Is it possible to delete some files/folders relating to the store on the Desktop and replace with the same one from the Laptop?

    Thanks for any ideas.

The error 0x80070002 seems to be:
    Error unknown condition or
    Error unhandled error

These are some steps that you can try:
    1) Microsoft store troubleshooter:
    a) In the left lower corner search type: troubleshoot > launch troubleshoot computer problems > on the left pane click view all > run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter

    2) Windows update troubleshooter

    b) for the troubleshooters post an image into the thread for anything fixed or not able to be fixed
Take Screenshot in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

    3) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    4) sfc /scannow
    5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    8) Check the Windows store after all of the above steps.
If there are still problems create a new user to see if the problem is related to a user.

    9) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    10) net user test /add
    11) shutdown /r
    12) When the computer reboots sign on with the new user named test
(if you prefer a different user name then change test to that name)
(report the outcome into the thread)

I have tried almost everything searching on the internet before asking here.

I had used all those suggestions above previously scannow and dism cleanup both find no errors.

A new user (tried previously, and now just in case), has exactly the same error!

What was displayed with the Microsoft store troubleshooter?

And what happened with: C: \Windows\System32\WSReset.exe

Approximately how long ago did the problem start?

What is the date of the oldest restore point and how does the date compare to when the problem had started?

    Store troubleshooter found no problems.

WSReset ran fine, store open, still problems exist.

The problem started after the initial Spring update at the end of April, and that is how long I have been trying to find a solution.

Regarding system restore, that is not working if run from within Windows, also started after Spring update. It runs but after reboot shows failed with this error: Microsoft Store Error 800700002-capture.png

Perform an in place upgrade repair using a Windows 10 iso to see if this can fix either or both of the problems:
    Download Windows 10
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Windows 10 Tutorials

A backup image is always recommended in case the unexpected happens.
If a Macrium backup image has not yet been created please create one:
Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything (free edition)
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect | Windows 10 Tutorials

Steps for an in place upgrade repair:
    1) find a flash drive that you can format ( > or = 8 GB)
    2) create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
    3) Power on the computer
    4) Open file explorer
    5) Insert the windows 10 iso into any USB port
    6) Identify the iso within file explorer
    7) click on the iso and launch setup or setup.exe
    8) follow the text and images in this link:

Repair Install, been there done that at least 3 times!

I have backups going back to last year, but I do not want to go back to before Spring Update. I have a daily backup of my main OS disk, and weekly backups of my other disks, so I am well covered in that department.

I rarely, if ever, use System Restore, but it appears that the 2 maybe linked, as it refers to AppxStaging in the error message.

However, it would be nice to have the store working properly. All the apps are there and work fine from before the Spring Update, but cannot download anything new, or update those already installed, whether MS's own apps or those of a 3rd party.

Run the BETA log collector and post a zip into this thread for troubleshooting:
