I tried to upload a folder with around 6500 files but google drive showed that it is uploading around 7200 files. I again tried a folder with around 3900 files but the google drive showed that it is uploading around 4500 files.
Given there were only eight files did you audit. Were there three extra files or is this a google bub?
depending how you have it setup google sync will upload new files as well ie any new photos etc. What type of files are you uploading as if they are photos you should upload to google photos not to google drive as the photos are unlimited google drive isnt
Google photos, unless you pay for storage your photos will not be originals in terms of amount of data. I would not be using free service for any photo worth keeping. At least that has been my experience.
Today it is working fine. Will revert again if next time it errored. But last few days, there was certainly some problem.
